I said I'd be back with part 2. I meant it! Here's part 1 if you missed it.
Title:Magic Lessons-Part 2 of 5
Words: 695
Characters: Sora, Kairi, little bit of voice-in-the-head!Roxas
Notes: Same as part 1?
Sora paced the beach at the secret cove at the north end of the island. It was an ideal place for sparring in general, but he figured it would be fine for working with magic too since it was secluded and he didn't feel like answering any questions. Magic was not well known on some of the islands, their home island and the small islet that was their playground included. So this was where he would be finding out how Kairi was doing with magic. Of course, he was early. So he had some time on his hands. The pacing was getting old. With huff he summoned the Keyblade, currently equipped with the Monochrome key chain, and occupied himself with a training exercise akin to shadowboxing. He didn't have much longer to wait anyway. It was only another few minutes before Kairi arrived.
"Bored?"
"Very."
"Well, let's see what we can do about that."
"I think there's a lot we can do about that," he said cheerfully. This could be fun. It could've been more fun if Riku would've come along, but he'd said something about being a little busy. So it was just Sora and Kairi. Could be fun...
'Fun' was hardly the right word. It was insane, but in a good way. She'd learned a lot better than he thought and he was quite sure she'd asked someone else for a few lessons. He was rethinking the wisdom of buying her that mage's staff that could cast a spell when its bearer willed it. The only reason it bugged him was because he didn't know what spell it could cast. There'd been a note with it, but he hadn't bothered to read it, instead just handing it over note and all. Kairi knew, though, and she was probably waiting for a good opportunity to use it.
The opportunity came along when he added Reflect to the mix. He knew it probably wasn't a good idea, but she wasn't. Missing. At. All. And he was quite sure that last Blizzard spell had left a few cuts.
The first Reflect had startled her. That could well have been because he usually kept his spell casting quiet, so it wasn't easy to know which spell he was casting. He shrugged it off. They were doing this for a reason. Things might be peaceful now, but they had no way of knowing when something could happen or what would happen.
He cursed his wandering mind, and Roxas's chuckling in the back of said mind, when he realized Kairi was casting a spell that he didn't know and the only spell he had time to cast was another Reflect. The spell went off just in time, sending the unfamiliar spell back. So why in the hell did he still get hit with a spell? At least it had been one that he knew something about. However, a Silence spell meant he'd lost this spar, as he couldn't cast any more spells. Still, where had the spell come from?
That staff maybe?
'Shut up, Roxas.'
The problem, however, was that Roxas was probably right. Either way, Sora had some munny that he would be parting company with, as he had made a bet with Riku about this. Kairi would slap them both if she knew, but who said she had to know?
Where was she for that matter? When Sora had put up the Reflect spell, Kairi had been further up the beach, near the palm trees at the high tide line. Now he saw no sign of her. Concerned, he ran to where he thought he'd seen her and looked around. What he found made him wonder just what kind of a spell she'd cast.
'Her... clothes? What the...?' A further search turned up small footprints leading away. He followed them, his worry growing. The footprints led into the underbrush. He parted the bushes and peered in.
A small pig peered back. He huffed. If this was some sort of prank, he wasn't amused. Where had Kairi gone? Annoyed, he simply stared at the pig while he was pondering what he should do next.
'Kairi, where are you?'

I am crazy.
