Title: Skull & Crossbones
Word Count: 422
Spoilers: N/A
Notes: Maybe an AU setting with Axel, Roxas & Demyx. Inspired by the icon I'm using from forsaken-icons. No beta. First KH writing.
With a black, sharpie marker in hand, a delighted grin drew its way up Axel’s face, as he quickly scribbled, filling in his sweet little design with permanent, strong-scented ink onto a Hershey’s syrup bottle.
“Hey Axel…”
“Hey Roxas,” Axel answered, automatically, his green eyes focused solely on bottle in his hand, instead of his blond friend, until he finished the last of his skull and crossbones design with flourish, his hand whipping through the air, with the marker still held between his fingers. Roxas watched as Axel spinned the marker between two of his fingers a few times, admiring his work, before at last looking up.
“So, what’s up?”
Grasping the cabinet handle below him, Axel pulled open the door, tossing the bottle of syrup into a collection of other items already stashed within. Roxas could have sworn he saw it collide with a box of Ritz crackers, marked with a huge, crappy drawing of a skull and cross bones over it, before Axel slammed the door shut quickly, away from his prying eyes.
“That’s where we keep the rat poisoning…”
“I know,” Axel said, lightly laughing. “All the dangerous stuff goes down there. Stay out, okay?”
“Right…” Roxas watched Axel walk away, out of the pantry, shooting a questioning look at his back.
For the past couple of weeks, Axel had been labeling his food with his own name to keep it away from Demyx’s greedy mouth. First, notes appeared reading, “Axel” written over any food bought and belonging to Axel … and when that food was gone, the notes took on the more insistant “AXEL!!” scrawled out in huge, black, frustrated lettering.
Axel must have thought he was slick, stashing his food in the cleaning product cabinet, labeling it up like one swig of syrup would rot out your intestines. He looked pretty happy leaving. After glancing at the cabinet once more, Roxas left too.
It seemed like an okay plan.

“AHHH! How the hell are you eating it? Can you not see the huge skull on it, huh? It was sitting right next to the window cleaner!” Axel snatched up a cleaning bottle, its poisonous blue color sloshing in front of Demyx’s equally blue eyes.
Demyx batted away the bottle, smiling, squeezing a bit more of Axel’s syrup into his mouth. He tapped the bottle in his hand fondly. “This is Jack Sparrow’s. See Axel?” His finger rested on the marker rendition of the skull and crossbones.
Never before had Axel wanted to hit anyone so badly…
