Title: Sin
Word Count: 310
Characters: Cookies if you can guess. ^-^
Notes: This just sort of happened a couple hours ago. *points to current music and blames it*
It was a mistake. It was all a mistake.
…
It was a costly mistake. Maybe mistake was too soft of a word for it. Blunder, slip up, debacle… all too soft.
Crime? Well… destroying his home world because he was bored there could be called that, except that it hadn’t been destroyed. It had simply disappeared, hadn’t it? A lot of people had disappeared too. Some of them were never coming back. Could that be called murder?
Even that was too soft.
He had given himself to Darkness. What could that be called? Nothing, really. Darkness itself was neither good nor evil. The same could be said for Light. Giving himself to the Light wouldn’t have been any different under the circumstances. He had screwed up. Between jealousy and pride and pushing his real feelings for his friends to the back burner, he had screwed up. He had betrayed them, without even trying. He had given himself to the Darkness for selfish reasons.
He had sinned. That was the word. He had hurt and betrayed his friends and let the Darkness have him in the process. His sins had left one friend’s life hanging in the balance. One good deed in the whole mess of bad deeds couldn’t correct that, no matter how much suffering he’d brought himself while doing that deed.
Not that he’d been willing to give himself to the Darkness, but his sins had put him there.
And now he was going there again. He didn’t regret it this time, even though he was really losing himself. He could face his Darkness and use it with a clear conscious this time because it wasn’t for him. He wasn’t afraid this time either.
“This is for my best friend. No one else.”
If he had to erase himself to atone for his sins, then so be it.
