Notes: I love Pete. :D This is basically the result of me trying to figure out how Mickey got to be king.


"Well, who died and made you king, eh? Ha! That's right! No one! We ain't never had a king before, and who ever said it hadta be you? Oh, sure, you pulled that funny-lookin' key from the 'mag-i-cal' stone, but we can't go around believing every legend we see.

"I mean, it just don't seem fair, do it? You ain't got no right to be king, not any more than me, or my gramma for that matter. And who says it had to be a king, anyway? and not a— a governor or a president or a tribune... or—"

"Pete," the high voice cut in, "I'm sorry to interrupt you, but since this is your fiftieth attempt on my throne, and you don't seem to be denying it, according to our kingdom's Pandect, Chapter 7, Section 64, Clause 8, I'm afraid I'm going to have to banish you—"

"Well, go right ahead then! I ain't too keen on livin' my life out here in a country filled with fairy tales."

"—to a different dimension."

Pete started.

"Whoa whoa whoa, hold on a second now! What's this about—"

Mickey, however, did not seem about to go into any explanations. Before Pete had even started the sentence, a key materialized in Mickey's hand and began to emit a brilliant light.

Pete looked around in panic as all the people and objects around him blurred and dissipated into fine grains one by one. Then all that was left was the king, standing in front of his throne and holding the blindingly bright keyblade out in front of him. It was becoming a struggle just to keep his eyes open as his consciousness steadily slipped away. Just as Pete felt his mind going blank, he took a last squint at his old deckhand and thought to himself, If that measly roustabout could become a king, why, someday a good ol' ship captain such as myself could become... king of all worlds!

This was cute. ♥ While this seems highly plausible, I can't see Mickey acting like that, honestly. XD; Maybe it's just me.

Yeah, in the game, when Goofy said that Pete had been banished for causing trouble, I was like, "Oh man, I can totally see that happening!" but when I tried to write this, I kept thinking, "How did Pete manage to get banished by Mickey though? He's like 90% harmless." XD And Mickey definitely seems like the forgiving type, but ah well.

I like it! Good Pete voice, nice version of King- capital K- King, dag nabbit, Mickey, and thank you for giving detail to a scene that was referenced in the games. ^^

KH2's introduction of Pete made me grin, and hearing Mickey BANISHED him. XD Oh, nostalgia and love! Thanks for writing this. ^^
