Afterwards, he lies between sun and moon. Feathers and leathery skin surround and cradle him. Memories come to him, swift and painful, of another pair of wings. Even here, in the reflected glow of these two lights, his inadequacies burn.

Should-have, could-have, what-ifs, flit through his mind, anything to escape the image of blood-stained feathers starting to burn.

It hurts.

He holds his gold tighter. His silver, as if sensing a rare moment of vulnerability, shifts closer. Feeling the warm breaths on his neck and chest, he feels a little less lost.

Opening his eyes to see twin sleepy glows, he swears he will not smell burning feathers ever again.

People just don't write enough of this pairing. I got sick of looking for it, and decided to write some for myself.

Can we post outside of the challenges? It didn't mention it in the rules, so here this is. If not, sorry, and i'll take it down.

Yeah, you can post outside of challenges. It will not be entered (of course) in the contest, so you won't win, but I don't see why we should just limit drabbles to challenges. I will amend the info page (yet again).

Oh, and by the way, you may want to check your spelling. Sorry for being nit-picky, but I would like to insist in having very neat entries. For example, 'characters' is being spelt wrongly.

Glad you like it. First piece I've done in ages, and the first I've done in Kingdom Hearts-verse. Why isn't the pairing more popular? They make such pretty pictures...*drools*

The way I see it, it's actually pretty popular... The problem is writing it believably. Most of the people I've talked to who love the threesome have problems with Sephiroth and Leon getting along. I managed to make the threesome believable in my epic (there isn't actually a threesome yet, but was hinted at), and got only positive comments about it. So anyway, that's my thoughts about that.

As for this drabble, I thought it was beautiful and positively squee-ed when I saw the SxLxC. There does need to be more of them in the world. I really loved the line "Feeling the warm breaths on his neck and chest, he feels a little less lost," because I'm a sucker for vulnerable Leon. Aww.
