Taking the cue from Rachel, here's something more saccharine.

Title: She's a Mystery
Challenge: None
Word Count: 259
Notes: The end result of waking up at 5:30AM and not being able to go back to sleep.

Outsmarted again, Sora took a moment to throw a lingering glare in Riku's direction, just before the boy murmured a quick, I'll race you, and moved in for a head start. Huffing, Sora bolted after Riku who, quite easily, managed to remain just out of his reach. They had almost made it to the shoreline when they noticed a figure curled up face-down upon the sand. It was a girl!

Baffled, the young duo merely stood over her, occasionally extending a hand to give her a gentle shake to rouse her, but always pulling back at the last second. She's like a sleeping angel, Sora thought, an angel who fell from the heavens. That must've been the case!

Beaming at the sudden realization, Sora turned, with haste, to explain his findings to Riku, who promptly snorted with laughter and affectionately called him an idiot. Little did they know that they had inadvertently awaken the sleeping girl with their chatter. Riku's laughter died down at once and both looked down to meet a pair of warm blue-as-the-midday-sky eyes, as well as a startled expression.

She really is an angel, Sora thought. Temporarily lost in his lingering state of awe, he didn't notice the girl looking directly at him but, when he did, he quickly adverted his stare and flushed. Riku on the other hand, took to shading his eyes with a hand and scanning the ocean for any sort of boat or ship the girl may have come from. There was nothing.

It was settled -- she was staying with them.
