Notes: Holy cow, it's been awhile since I wrote something here! Hope I'm not too out of practice.

"What's it feel like?" she asked, her chubby four-year-old finger tracing the picture of the sleeping princess in the picture book.

"True love's kiss feels quite different from all other kinds," he grandmother explained, because she knew all about such things. "It's not selfish. It's slow, it's soft, and it's gentle."

And when she feels it, it's too fast to think about; barely time to comprehend his sweat-covered hands turning the blade around and giving a fatal PUSH. Slicing through his clothes and then his skin, right to her. There's the dull shock, and blood, and a cold shudder that runs through his whole body. She feels everything, from the rush to the pain to the numbness, just before she's free.

It's gentle.
