Theme: [182] Puzzles
Title: Skylights
Word Count: 205
Notes: Luxord has a way of thinking Saix finds rather...puzzling.
“What are you doing, Number Ten?”
“Practicing.”
The look of intense boredom didn’t waver on Saix’s face, even with such a puzzling answer. Calmly he lifted his gaze to the skylight that interrupted the smooth white marble of the ceiling above them. There was nothing there that he could see. He stared down at the Gambler again. “What are you practicing, Number Ten?”
“I’m making shooting stars. You know, make a wish, it’s luck, all that.” He waved a hand vaguely upwards from where he was laying on his back on the marble floor, knees bent, one leg crossed over the other and his head pillowed on the crook of his elbow.
Another long gaze up and out the skylight, although Saix’s brow furrowed this time. Then down to the blond man, voice still apathetic. “You realize there are no stars here, do you not?”
The other man nodded, his eyes never leaving the black expanse visible through the glass, and he flicked his hand in the air, pointing, as if tracing the path of one of the invisible meteors. “That just makes it a bit more of a challenge. Don’t you think?” And then he smiled to himself, as if he knew a secret.
