Challenge: [193] Destruction
Title: One Man's Trash
Word Count:
205
Notes: Huh. Just huh.

Sora's a hero, right? After all, he saved the world, the worlds. Without Sora, everything and everyone would be bowing to the darkness, to one of Ansem's many forms. Sora is everything, Sora is the saviour.

But Sora isn't magic, he's not amazing, he didn't wave a magic wand and fix everything, just like that. He had to make sacrifices, lose friends, loves, memories, himself. But more than that, Sora knows he isn't the hero. He's far from it. In fact, he envies Kairi. Kairi who spent the entire time unconscious or lost. Kairi who would've done anything to be able to fight. To help, to prove she's worth something. Kairi's lucky.

Kairi didn't have to swing a weapon, destroy person after person, creature after creature. Kairi didn't have to deal with the guilt that made no sense. He was saving the worlds why did stabbing a keyblade through a evil little shadow feel so painful, so wrong, so much like murder.

Yes, Sora saved the worlds. Yes, Sora was the reason for every smile left. But Sora was also the reason that bodies lay scattered across the universe. He's the reason that one half of everything, one entire way of thinking and feeling and acting, is gone.

Okay, so I really love to read Sora with a jaded edge to him. I like how he's so envious of Kairi's pure heart. He sacrificed himself for the greater good, but that also brought with it destruction. He's so aware of what he did. I like that he's not seeing it in a black and white manner of good vs. evil, but rather he's seeing "evil" as another viewpoint here, not necessarily right or wrong. Awesome job.

You know, I've never actually thought of Sora this way before... *is remarkably close-minded* But it makes an incredible amount of sense.

He's the reason that one half of everything, one entire way of thinking and feeling and acting, is gone.

Fantastic. A wonderful view point and a wonderful piece!

I love this side of Sora so, so much. I liked that first line, as if it's reassurance. *wiggle* So well done. Good luck!

Though others have said such before me, I adore Darker!Sora (there's so much going on in that head that the game never touches, to the delight of us fanfic writers) and the last line of this little piece. It's fantastically fantastic. Wonderful job!
