Just Another Words for Eternity


Once upon a time, there were three.

There was Sea, with her transparent dresses of waves and hair of scales.
There was Sky, with eyes full of clouds and lightning at his heels.
There was Earth, who hid behind bangs of trees and smiled with teeth of silver.

They were nature. They were lovers. They were dying.

Even mighty spirits such as theirs could only live for so long, and so very long had they lived.

One day, when Sky's burning heart was sinking into the hands of his friends, they gathered together and made a promise. They forged it from a star from Sky's lung, made it grow with Sea's tears, and entrusted it to Land so that it might prosper.

Buried in sands of gold, it grew, a long tall tree which could twist in whatever fashion it please. When it beared fruit, the three took one, and split it between them. It bound their love forevermore through other lives.

An eternity.

Aqua's eyes glitter teasingly from the light of their campfire as she regales them with myths and romances of the star-shaped fruit which is divided among them, to which Terra just laughs and Ven sullenly blushes, avoiding everyone's eyes.

A promise.

Shushing Riku's protests and guilt with a gentle kiss and a trusting smile, Kairi helps Sora cut the Paopu fruit, listening to his ideas of how they'll never split apart again.

A tomorrow.

With his typical flair and penchant for drama, Axel spins the platter about, and when a drink falls, landing right on Roxas' head and covering him sticky yellow Paopu juice, Xion starts off a chain reaction as she covers her mouth and laughs.

A second chance.
