Okay... Lady Glinda had explained this to him. She'd gone over all the particulars and-
CRASH
-he still nearly got squashed every time someone arrived.
He waited, listened for the groaning, approached the sideways-leaning front door and puffed out his chest.
"Hello!" he said to the unfortunate voices somewhere inside the wrecked farmhouse. "I am Bique, your representative of the Munchkinland welcoming committee, and I'm happy to make your acquaintance."
The door tilted upward and two heads poked out. They spotted him and blinked. Oh. Humans. Well that wasn't very exciting, but at least it was safe. Mostly. Usually. He smiled and waved, grasping his registration scroll in the other hand.
"So!" he kept smiling. You always tried to keep smiling. "Are you a good witch," he turned the grin on the redhead next, "or a bad witch?"
They looked at each other.
"Uh..." said the boy.
"Me," the girl asked, "or him?" and she pointed at her companion.
"Oh both," Bique said, "both. I have to register all visitors." He tapped his quill on the scroll. "Name, world of origin, and good or bad."
The boy pushed the door fully open, climbed out and stubbed his foot on the door frame, nearly measuring his length in the dirt. The girl was more careful, and thoughtful.
"Are those are our only options? We're... not really witches."
He'd heard this kind of thing so many times- everyone denied it at first. "Is that your flying house, ma'am?"
The boy snickered. "More like 'crashing house'."
"At least you didn't land on anyone, sir," Bique said primly. "Now..." he lifted his pen, waiting.
"It's our house... I guess," the girl murmured, "but we didn't make it fly. There was this tornado and-"
"Hmm," Bique chewed on the end of his quill... spit out the bit of feather he'd bitten off. "Are you possessed of any magical items or do you have any magical powers?" They looked at one another sheepishly. Ah-hah! He'd thought so.
"Okay, yeah," said the boy, "My name's Sora. I'm a Keyblade Bearer, so we're gonna go with 'good witch'."
There was a soft banging and clanging sound coming from back in the house.
"Very good, sir." Bique said, marking down the information, "and you, miss?" She was looking back through the decimated door frame and cracked windowpanes.
"Kairi," she said, glancing at him, then back into the house, "I'm a Princess of Heart, also 'good witch'... can you excuse me for a second?" She smiled apologetically, then picked her way back through the door... and hit her head on the low-hanging frame.
Bique raised up on the balls of his feet- gaining a quarter inch, maximum- trying to make out the noise and its source.
"Oh, that's Riku," Sora said. "He's a Keyblade Bearer too-"
The cursing, foul enough to curl Bique's hair... had it not already been very curly, became audible as a tall figure stumbled out with a pot on one foot and a tea cozy that appeared to be attacking its face. Kairi attempted to help him, but as he couldn't see her, and was engaged with the sight-hampering cozy, he continued to stumble forward, tripped over his sauce-pan foot and fell flat on his face. He lay still and cursed again.
Bique stuck the end of the quill in his ear and wiggled until he was fairly sure the naughty words had been cleared out.
"Ah-heh heh..." Sora scratched his head and Kairi yanked the pot off the other boy's foot. "I don't suppose you have 'ambiguous' as an option?"

..or wait, would it be the Wizard if Dorothy's already been through? I forgot what happened with him after that.
...also, I vote for 'bad witch' as maybe he'll get so irritated with it he'll stop angsting and start defending himself? *likes the color of this irrational bubble of optimism, doesn't pop*

Date: 2009-11-17 08:47 pm (UTC)we hear he is a something of something
if ever a something there was~
XD If this IS the broadway Wicked, the whole 'animals should be seen and not heard' thing is going to sit very poorly with Sora, I'll tell you that right now.
Ehhh... :/ well, Judy Garland version states that Dorothy's buddies took over for the Wizard after he left. Jerky boy was a smooth operator in that version.
PLACEBOS FOR EVERYONE!
Yay~!
XD It's always useful to set up a little conflict for later, yes.

Date: 2009-11-18 01:59 pm (UTC)And I remember that one! Totally saw that when I was a kid. And recently at work as soon as it came out.
Over and over and over... one of my favorite lines has become Auntie Em telling off what's her name, not-Elphaba. "And now... well, being a Christian woman, I can't say it."
And the woman's D: expression, and Uncle Henry silently laughing. <3
*kicks all versions of the Wizard on general principle*

Date: 2009-11-18 06:03 pm (UTC)Auntie Em and Uncle Henry are AWESOME.
Uncle Henry: You mean she bit ya?
Miss. Gulch: No. Her dog.
Uncle Henry: Ohhhhh, she bit her dog.
Miss. Gulch: No.
*gives the Wizard a boot-to-the-head*
