Challenge: Anticipation
Title: Smudge
Word Count: 82
Notes: One of my first drabble fics in a very long time. I think I'm a bit rusty...ah well. Not to confident in the direction in which I took the prompt...Any feedback is appreciated.

 

 

Smudges, scratches, scribbles - waxy memories born anew on a fresh canvas.

 

Lies, all of it. But how could she not, trapped in her castle, both sanctuary and prison?

 

What do you see born from your dreams, your desires, the lingering visions that hold no marble walls or black cloaks?

 

Do you see his smiling face, bright eyes, and palm upturned in welcome?

 

Or do you see what lies behind it, the chains held by your own doing?

What will happen, Naminé?

I think the p.o.v for this is quite interesting- it kind of gave me the impression it was her conscience talking to her, but from a very detached perspective. (I'm not sure that makes sense, it's difficult to explain heheh) Also, rhetorical question love!

That was actually the POV that I was aiming for, a very detached almost 'third-party' view. I wondered that if Namine wasn't telling herself these things, then who was...and hence I tried to make the point of view separate from Namine herself.
