Title: Beginnings
Word Count: 211
Characters: Sora/Kairi
Notes: Not my favorite, but hey, why not post it anyway? Bleh at the uncreative title.
It all begins at the end of the world. In all reality, it begins with a limp girl floating in the surf, but there are things that Sora doesn't remember and that is only the start of them. Here he stands, impossibly, with Kairi before him and a vow on his lips. I promise. I'll come back to you. I promise. Seeing her before him, safe and sound and almost home, he thinks for the first time that he loves her. Of course, just because this is the moment that the words come to mind, doesn't mean that it's where it all began. Conversing on the docks, feeling her melt through his arms, watching her spring to life with his supposed last breath--there was love in all of these things, though Sora hadn't known it, and so he thinks that the end of the world is where it all begins. But to Kairi it's always been so, like the gentle tossing of the waves outside her window, or the way that air feels in her lungs, and so she just nods along and believes him--he'll come back to her. He promises. He loves her. Here, at the end of the world, their promises begin. There is no end in sight.
