Challenge - 235 Duality
Title - Riff
Word Count - 154
Notes - From an idea that keeps rattling around in my head, involving Roxas conscious within Sora. I'm glad I finally got something else written out of it, however small. :P

There’s a moment in the fight when he loses track of things, between the water clones and trying to keep an eye on Donald and Goofy. When he really notices their body again, Sora is... behind Demyx.

Holding the Keyblade like it’s Demyx’s sitar. So as far as he can tell, Sora is trying to look like an idiot.

- That doesn’t make music, Sora. - he says, kind of unamused with the way he’s goofing off in the middle of a fight.

- Yeah, but this will. - Sora replies, and somehow twists in such a way that Demyx is vaulted across the battlefield like it’s nothing, and he’s yelling and okay. Roxas is just staring, trying to figure out exactly what Sora did there - he never had been able to manage a Reaction Command against Demyx. But he has to admit it, or he’ll never hear the end of it.

- Okay, that sounded kind of cool. -

haha, this is so good. your roxas and sora dynamic is perfect!

I always figured the reaction commands were an extension of Roxas's fighting style, really. You don't have them before he shows up, and then they're all reactions - he takes something the Nobody or Heartless is doing and turns it on them. Except the Dancers. You get no reaction command at all for them, and I figured it was because Roxas never really got Demyx. (And boy did 358/2 Days confirm that. :p )

And then I got that one (once and never again) and it was so freaking... dorky! So not like Roxas to up and rock out in the middle of a fight. I don't believe that is anything but 100% Sora. <3

stealing this idea for my head canon like whoa. that makes so much sense!(wanna spoil me for days there? i only watched the animated cutscenes on youtube lolz)

but you do get a command for the dancers! wild dance! it's not very good in the 10 sec/10 clone challenge, though.

Okay, so basically it's just... almost everything Demyx does, every time they talk, Roxas is "?"

And he ends up thinking Demyx is this lazy little jerk who is maybe not too smart, and seems to totally miss the fact that he has somehow become Demyx's go-fer. :P He's got to be doing half of Demyx's job, every time you talk to him it's "Heeey, I bet you can't do this!" and "Man, I can't figure out how to do that..."

Sneaky manipulative little so and so. :P


And no, Dancers aren't the clones, they're the... well, groupies. His particular servant Nobodies are the slinky pink ones that show up in Hollow Bastion? And if you get too close they grab you and just toss you around between them? ...at least I've never gotten a reaction command from them. Just tossed around. x.x

thanks! haha, demyx was my favorite in kh2. this totally makes me like him more. (i watched the xion cutscenes on youtube, but haven't gotten around to the organization missions. someday.)

OH THEM. yes. they have actually killed my ps2's sora, on occasion :p a reaction command there would have been pretty sweet.

Yeah, kinda me too. Although I also want to slap him. I mean I knew he wasn't a fluffy little rainbow, but geeez. Poor Roxas. :P

'Course, this is after me hissing at him every time he listens to Demyx. 'No, don't you see what he's doing - stop talking to him!' and 'Yeah, buddy, I don't think he's the stupid one here. :P '


And yes, THEM. I really really hate them. I kept trying to find a reaction command, I was sure there would be one. Now I just pelt them with magic from a nice safe distance. >>
