Title: I'm Nobody, Who Are You?
Challenge: [251] Sobriquet
Word Count: 240
Rating: G
Notes: This is late, and something I threw together at the last minute, but I wanted to post it anyway. >_< Stupid procrastination...
Namine was drawing Castle Oblivion with colored pencils, her tongue stuck between her teeth in concentration.
Then Axel came sashaying by, presumably fresh from manipulating the other Nobodies in the Castle. She wasn't sure what his plan was, but she knew she was messing from them by his manner and she wondered why nobody else had seen it.
"How's the memory-altering going, Namine?"
"Just fine," she replied in a voice that she hoped sounded calm instead of strained. She hated this, hated trying to change Sora. Especially when it would put him Marluxia's clutches.
"Oh, surely you don't care? You are a Nobody, however special you might be. Nobodies don't care,” said Marluxia to Namine.
"I'm not,” she whispered.
"Not what?" said Marluxia.
"I'm not a Nobody, not really. I'm a witch." Namine replied, glaring at Marluxia.
"Oh that's so much better,” mocked Marluxia.
"Why do we call ourselves Nobodies anyway?" mused Axel, sounding amused.
"Because our leader called us that," said Larxene cheerfully. "Who cares?"
"It's kind of rude," said Axel.
"Mean, more like." said Namine, so quietly she didn't think anyone could hear her.
"Rude, mean, whatever. I'm mean, it suits.” Larxene sped off to go on a mission, and Marluxia went after her.
"We may be Nobodies, but we still exist. We can call ourselves whatever we like." Axel said to nobody in particular. Namine stared at him.
She was a witch, not a nobody. And she would make that a good thing, someday.
