Title: Again
Word Count: 262
Notes: Because the Disney characters need more love, dammit.
And it's been awhile since I last wrote one of these.
The city carried a peaceful aura about it and, if it were not for the heartless and their appearances, it would have been perfect. And, for his appearance there, one would think it was a reason of high importance.
And in a way it was; at least, to him it was important.
Looking from left to right, in front and behind, he tried to locate the voices he had only moments before. Just by hearing them had caused him to feel a wave of calmness and happiness.
“Gwarsh, Donald.” It had come from the right, where the crowd seemed to be thin in numbers. “Where d’ya think Sora ran off to?” The question was greeted by a cranky quack and a fleet of complaints on ‘how would I know?’ and ‘Stop stepping on my feet!’
Those voices eased his suspicion and he walked in their direction, soon approaching two of his old friends. He smiled as they came out of their banter long enough to take notice.
“Always acting like that.” He gave a light shrug, watching them still. “Guess it means you two will never change.” Though he never would want them to change; they wouldn’t be the Donald and Goofy he would have known.
“Yer Highness!” Goofy exclaimed while half ready to do a happy little jig. “We found you!”
“He found us,” Donald retorted.
The King all but smiled, gloved hands moving to the pockets of his black coat. “It’s good to be with my friends again. Donald, Goofy.”
This was one of the happiest moments of their lives.
