Title: A Small Misunderstanding
Word Count: 272
Spoilers: Very minor for BBS
Notes: Because annoyed!Ven is adorable.
If Ven had felt embarrassed as soon as Terra’s eyes found him by the manor house, it was nothing compared to how he felt when he saw his friend’s speechless shock slowly give way to a wide grin.
“Hey, Aqua!” he called over his shoulder. “C’mere! It’s OK, I’ve found him.”
“Really? Thank goodness!” Ven heard her footsteps approaching before she appeared all of a sudden just past Terra’s shoulder. “One minute he was there, and the next- oh!” She’d spotted him now, eyes widening and a hand flying to her mouth. Ven didn’t know what to say, which was unfortunate, because it gave Terra the chance to speak instead.
“It’s alright,” he said, sounding far too pleased with himself, “He’s all in one piece, we just have a...tiny problem here.”
Should’ve known, Ven thought darkly, crossing his arms over his chest and aiming his best glare up at Terra.
“Well,” Aqua replied from behind her hand (Ven, hoping for sympathy, had a horrible feeling that the way her eyes were creasing up at the corners didn’t bode well), “I can see why there might be a, uhh, little trouble here.”
“This isn’t funny, you guys!” Ven shouted, clenching his fists. “We gotta fix this! It’s serious!”
“Oh, c’mon Ven.” Terra said as Aqua broke into a convenient coughing fit. “We’re just kidding around, you know that. There’s no need for this small misunderstanding.”
“Gah!” And Ven, standing all of three and a half inches on Terra’s palm, doubled his glare and swore to himself that once he’d returned to his proper height, he’d make sure it was Terra who suffered next.
