"We could've just as easily been kings, Sora." It was the sort of thing Riku said back then, when they were just beach bums with big imaginations.
Avoiding homework. Racing each other all the time as if there was anywhere to go.
"We could've just as easily been fish," is the sort of thing Sora would rejoin with.
Riku would roll his eyes. Flop back into the sand. "Way to be dull, man. Who wants to be a fish? Just wait. Everyone's going to know my name someday."
Now, Sora thinks it wouldn't be so bad to be a fish.
