Title: Trapped
Challenge: Odd Pairings
Word Count: 191
Notes: I can't say that I am particularly fond of this drabble, but for whatever reason this is what emerged in my little brain when I tried to think of an odd pairing for KH. I suppose that you could say that there's a hint of non-con in here, but it doesn't have to be. Yeah.
As a child she had always loved the Hollow Bastion library. Even before she was old enough to read through the texts on history and magic, their pages yellowed and looking as if they contained the secrets of the universe in arcane writing and symbols, she had stood in the colored sunlight that streamed in through the stained glass windows and laughed in sheer delight at its beauty.
The library had always been her safe haven, but now….
Aerith let her hand trail across one book’s particularly well-worn spine and held herself perfectly still as she heard soft footsteps come up behind her. She didn’t need to turn around to see the arrogant smirk on the silver-haired man’s face, to see the way his eyes gleamed appraisingly as they looked at her.
She took a deep breath and turned around, keeping her green eyes fixed on the floor so that they wouldn’t have to meet that strange, disconcerting orange gaze.
“Good afternoon, Lord Ansem.”
The ruler of Hollow Bastion smiled at her, and Aerith couldn’t suppress a shudder.
“Good afternoon, Aerith… Are you ready to begin your studies on advanced magic?”
