Challenge: [280] Father
Title: ] A Father's Dedication
Word Count: 358
Notes: BbS spoilers for Eraqus's story. When I saw this prompt, I couldn't really think of anyone who fit the role better. Typical, but fitting.
He's not quite sure how, for he has spent a lifetime dedicated to the Keyblade and protecting the worlds. He has never had time for fun or pleasure, only training and discipline.
Eraqus never loved, therefore he never married. He never had children, but somehow he ended up with three.
It was just one at first. A boy with so much potential, he took him in as his apprentice.
The boy spent most of his childhood trying to be just like his Master, who he considered to be his father. That little boy's name was Terra.
Terra would spend the rest of his life, trying to walk in the foot-steps of his father, only hoping that he wouldn't let him down.
And he never did.
And then it became two, where Eraqus decided that the boy needed a companion. So one day when he came across the girl with blue hair and azure eyes with a heart of the purest light, he took her in.
That girl did everything as Master said, and would always be daddy's little girl. Or at least, he was pretty sure that would be the correct phrase.
That girl's name was Aqua. And in Eraqus's heart, she would always be his little girl. During every thunder storm, there would be a place next to him for her to cuddle up against.
And then two became three, and when the first two became a little older, Eraqus opened his heart up to not a new apprentice… no, this time a child.
A broken boy who had a troubled past, Eraqus had the most love for. He would show the boy companionship, friendship, and most important of all: love.
That boy's name was Ventus.
Eraqus had three children. Terra, Aqua and Ven. His love for them was unconditional and equal for all.
And when the life passed through his body, he was only disappointed in himself.
He was proud of the man who Terra had become.
He trusted that Aqua would finish what he started.
And he knew that Ven was the purest light of all, and only wished for him to never be harmed.
