notes the emotion is there, at least it was suppose to be....
The soft white sand spun into the air as boney knees hit the ground. Pale fingers clasp tightly onto the wooden sword they held.
Tidus stared at the girl with sympathetic eyes. “We can stop.” He offered gently, holding his hand out to help her up.
The pretty red-head held her own hand up, waving away her friend. “No, please let’s go on.” She stood on shaky legs, her body tired and her soul aching for rest.
But her heart was stronger, and she would not quit now. No, with the memory of his last good-bye in her mind, she would not quit now.“Please Tidus, teach me to fight, so I can help them next time.”
Next time, she would not need saving, she would fight along side her friends, she would not be ushered into safety.
Next time she would not allow herself to be a liability.
