“Food?”

“Check.”

“Water?”

“Check.”

“Fuel?”

“Check.”

“Play Boy magazines?”

“Ch—Cid!”

“What? A guys gotta jerk-off to something… especially in these times…”

“… Gross…”

Aerith sighed and shook her head. Yuffie scowled… then hit Cid over the head with her clipboard.

“HEY!”

Cloud, in exasperation and amusement shook his head, also. How he was going to miss these small episodes…

“Don’t get yourself killed.”

Out of the corner of his eye, he saw Leon casually leaning against a brick wall.

“I won’t,” Cloud spat out with utmost confidence.

“… Whatever.”

“Alright!” Yuffie excitedly declared. “You’re set to go on another world fun adventure!” The ninja jumped off of Cloud’s gummi ship. Standing with proud, she added, “Don’t drink and drive, write us somehow, and, what Squall said-”

“It’s Leon!”

“—don’t die! God only knows what chaos Aerith can create if you do. Don’t let that angel exterior fool you!”

Cloud walked closer to Ragnarok. “I won’t!”

Aerith gave a tight goodbye hug to their departing colleague and friend. “Be careful.”

Cloud nodded affirmably, silently taking her words to heart.

Yuffie came next with a lighter and briefer embrace. “We’ll be waiting!”

Cid thumbed his nose for the umpteenth time only to state, “Take care of her! I don’t want Ragnarok in a shitty condition when you return. My supply of gummi blocks won’t last for long…”

“Can’t you be more emotional, Cid? Cloud is leaving to find Sephiroth. That Sephy guy isn’t just a pushover, ya know!”

Cloud seated himself inside the cockpit. Switching Ragnarok into on mode, the ship took flight.

Taking one last look around Traverse Town’s First District did his eyes fall upon Leon, still propped against the brick wall.

Leon looked-up into his sky gaze, fierce grey clashed with determined blue.

Cloud worded with silent lips, “Trust me, I’ll be fine.”
