Title: Left Behind

A shirt lay limp on the cold floor with a pair of unwashed socks for accompaniment.
A fishing net forlorn beside pails carelessly tossed aside.
Posters, watermarked by intense sunlight, were plastered across the ceiling.
Shelves of boxes filled with hidden treasures and silly keepsakes cluttered a corner.
Handmade ornaments of a crescent and stars hung proudly as decorations.
A bed unmade, as if he would return.
Selphie stood there, silent (for once), taking in the picture of a certain boy's room. She closed the room door with the smile returning to her face. The fear and insecurity subsided within her as she ran down the beach towards the two boys waiting for her. With newfound conviction and hope building up within her, Selphie breathlessly proclaimed, "They will be back!"
Tidus smiled weakly while Wakka turned away.
"I'm sure of it!"
"How can you be so sure? They have been missing for days…"
"They didn't take the picture!"
"Picture?"
"Sora would have taken the picture with him! But he didn't!"
"Selphie…"
"The picture of all of us! The one with Riku frowning because he didn't want to be in the picture but Sora and Kairi begged him to… and… and when Wakka didn't have his bandana on because… because the wind was strong… and… and … that everybody had hair in their faces… but it was so fun…. THAT picture!!
He didn't take it so he will be back! They will come back! They must come back… Sora will come back for the picture… he will…He promised! He said he would remember the picture!"
"Selphie!"
"They will come back won't they? Tell me they will… tell me… that they will come back… and everything will be alright again."
