kh_drabble | (no subject)

I'm really new here, but I thought I'd try this place out. I've lurked before, and read a few things, but I guess you can say I'm too shy to comment.

So, I thought I'd try the challenge.

Title: Cur veniam petimus?
Challenge: Tough Love
Word count: 241
Other: Character spoiler (death) and possbibly CoM plot spoiler.

He took a deep breath, watching the smaller man carefully before letting his cold cobalt gaze fall to the floor. There were rules for these sort of games they played: speaking only when spoken to, discussing only the going-on of the castle; it was almost as if they had no privacy. He merely adjusted his long black coat, keeping an emotionless expression on his face as he decided that he should probably just leave.

"Lexaeus... Vixen is dead." The younger man spoke up finally, slowly turning to face him while adjusting his hair. Not a single strand would be out of place.

"Dead?"

"His scent is gone...he is dead." He spoke flatly, letting his eyes dart back to the crystal orb they had used to spy on the Darkling and the Hero.

"Zexion, are you afraid of fading away?"

"Aren't we all?"

"Perhaps." He paused for a moment, before daring to continue on. "I shall go meet up with the darkling. We can use him to stop Marluxia."

"...Very well."

I'll fade away so you don't have to.

Zexion only watched as the other man left. Had he just heard that from Lexaeus' lips? Were they even true? He brushed his hair back a bit, revealing his other eye just for a moment before letting it fall back into place. A weak smile crossed his lips, before allowing it to disappear.

At least someone will...
