Title: A Promise Long Forgotten

Warning/s: None, really.
This was his tree, from the bend in its trunk to the star shaped fruit it bore. Everything to do with this tiny island off of the main one had been considered his.
But he hadn’t been home for years, and Selphie was tired of feeling lonely and forgotten.
Her dreams had left around the time he did, and the paopu tree was just a bitter reminder of her adolescent hopes.
One by one, she plucked the ripe fruits away from the tree, bare feet planted firmly in its bend while she worked. Nobody came here anymore, and she wanted to finish quickly so she could flee from the ever growing loneliness that haunted her here.
And just as she had pulled them down from their perch, she pulled her arm back, making one last wish it hadn’t come to this, and threw every last star into the sea.
