Challenge: [052] Drown
Title: Water Games
Word Count: 294
Notes: There are no spoilers from KHII - just a mentioned name of a character from the game.
If there was one thing that Axel hated more than anything - and that would include one of those stupid games Zexion liked to play - it would be cleaning the halls with water.
He hated water.
It hurt, almost burned at the touch, and usually soaked his gloves each time he used the cold water the Superior forced him to use upon the marble floors. Soap and water to get the blood off the floor, to make sure their precious alabaster tile would not stain. Well fuck that! Vexen could clean the walls of his lab himself. He wasn't the Elders' lap dog - that was Saix.
However, that wasn't the problem with water. Sure he hated washing the walls of Vexen's lab, especially when the scientist enjoyed freezing the soapy water to his hand to attempt to cause him to scream in pain (except it never worked, it usually ended in Axel threatening to set fire to Vexen's hair and Vexen shrugging him off like he was trash). Oh no. What he hated the most about water - well cold water that is - was the fact that his lovely flames could disappear as soon as he was damp with the water. One couldn't light a fire under water... well there was that and the one thing he feared the most, the one thing he would never tell a soul.
And that one thing was drowning.
Yet someone had learned of this terrible secret of his. So when he and this one person had a spat, he would always use it to his advantage in his illusionist games.
He was always a cheater anyway.
And he hated how that was how Zexion always won - cheating by using the darkest fears against others.

Lovely stuff, here ^_^
