Title: Four Before Five
Word Count: 166
Notes: Set in KHII, Destiny Islands. Kairi. Slight spoiler if you haven't gotten past the six days of Roxas.
It's far too violent now to be called a 'crumple'.
Squash. Crush. Toss.
The curve of her palm is stained with black ink from sliding across useless words over and over in a frantic desperation to reach the end of the page.
She's never wanted to write her name so badly. Five simple letters she refuses to sign until the numerous ones above are perfect. Perfect.
One bottle. One chance.
She wants to imprint her heart into words. Paint her skin with pen and press it to paper. Mirror herself to page so successfully her signature isn't even necessary.
If only her pen could do that. If only it could create more than the stale, grey words it can now. If only it could translate into language even a taste of what she wants to say.
If only it could remember those four elusive letters that should be at the top to balance her five across the bottom.

Squish. Scrunch. Throw.
