Challenge: [086] In Someone Else's Arms
Title: And Mother to us all.
Word count: 827. Just pushing it.
Spoilers: Takes place after Kingdom Hearts II.
Notes: PG-13 just to be safe. As for why I wrote this? Started last night, finished during the last hour or two. Just felt like writing, and I apologize if it seems weird. That, and I'll probably have to go and rewrite this later; just wanted to share it.

"I've found you..." echoed a voice from the sea. As Kairi turned from her nighttime walk, she saw fireflies, countless fireflies appear on the ocean spray. Watching as they moved towards her, Kairi found that she could not move. Drawing closer, she realized that the lights were clustering together, uniting into one mass.

As the mass drew nearer, it formed the shape of a cloaked man. Stopping before her, the lights shone as a unified source before dying out. In their place stood one whom Kairi had hoped to never see again.

"Xemnas..." Kairi murmurred, a familiar voice not her own echoing in the back of her head.

"You are the source of all light," the Superior replied, raising his hand to stroke her hair. Kairi moved to strike it away and flee, but her paralysis held fast.

"You will bear my memory," Xemnas said, a faint smile creasing his lips. Bending over, the Superior held her brow fast as he gently kissed her forehead.

A surge ran through Kairi as her revulsion of the act tried to rise up her mouth. But when she looked up, Xemnas was gone, along with the ocean and her island. Now, she was floating above a great pillar of stained glass, below her an image of a Madonna. A Madonna bearing her face, surrounded by images of Sora, Riku and Roxas in Templar armour.

"What...?" Kairi whispered, when suddenly a chime sounded before her. Looking up, she saw that a mirror had appeared before her. Yet her reflection was that of a grown woman. Slightly taller, her physique had matured to that of an hourglass woman in her prime. Steeping forward slightly, Kairi marveled at her appearance. She had become like the Madonna beneath her; a vision of feminie beauty.

A prick at her side caused her to look down to see a blue light bump next to her. Stepping back, she scrutinized the light. Unlike the ones that had formed Xemnas, this one was blue, not acidic green. As she studied it further, the light drew nearer, nuzzling against her arm in goodwill.

Reaching for it, Kairi cupped it in her hands, and raised it to her face. A feeling of benevolence came to her, almost as if she saw the light as a missing child. Smiling, she brought the orb to her, and passed it into her chest.

At that instant, blue lights slowly began floating up from the pillar, hidden greens among blues. As they approached her, each light found no barrier and entered within her. With them came a slight surge, a gradual spike in her awareness.

Kairi let them all in, like chicklettes under their mother's wing. With each light that became a part of her came a bliss that overrided her senses. Eventually giving in, she opened herself fully to the beacons of light, offering no resistance.

Thousands of the embers then came, revolving around her in an endless spiral. As she welcomed them home, the lights within made her luminous. Shining now with her lightened core, Kairi content knew no bounds. She felt vast, as if all light was hers, every life, every ember. Just waiting to return to their mother one day.

Opening her eyes, Kairi saw Namine to the right of the mirror, the same sense of bliss on her face. Yet she was merely a facet of the mirror, for it had gained two more attachements to its sides. With them, Kairi looked at herself somewhat detatchedly.

She was still a woman in her prime, but her proportions were greatly exaggerated now. Her face and arms had become fuller, while her hourglass figure had ballooned. Continuing her scrutiny, she found her bosom now as big as her head, outmatched only by her hips. Each side was now a full foot or two in length, spreading out from her in feminine glory. As she moved her hands over them, she found her thighs had grown thick as well.

In the back of her mind, Kairi knew this was unnatural. She resembled one of the ancient fertility idols she had studied the other day, exaggerated proportions and all. No woman could look, she thought, like that.

But as more of the lights came, she found her unease and horror ebb away, silenced by the lights' intoxicating effect. As more entered, the memory of Kingdom Hearts passed by. She was like Kingdom Hearts now, a faint musing thought, bearing within her the light of the worlds.

As she watched her reflection, the same robed figure from before appeared behind her. Walking around her, Xemnas gazed at her, desire in his eyes. "You will bear my memory," repeated the Superior, grasping her in his arms. Their eyes locking for a moment, Kairi tried to will herself to pull away, but the intoxicants made her sluggish.

Yet she still screamed when Xemnas' lips kissed her own, bolting upright in her bed as she did so.

Wow. There are some serious religious and visual images: very vivid, and very surreal, like a lucid dream. I usually try to keep religion out of my Kingdom Hearts, but this I don't mind.

Since you did mention a re-write and all, maybe fleshing it out some more, adding description and including more about Xemnas' role in passing memory, it would be wonderful and maybe tie the whole thing together a little bit more. I have a feeeling that so much</> in such a short piece will lose some people. Also, I'd like to see a bit more; I reallyreallyreally enjoy it.

Wonderful job. I hope to see more from you, okay?

This piece used amazing uses of adjectives, adverbs, and verbs. I do agree that the religious element is a little much for a KH drabble but this is REALLY good. The grammar in one or two places is off, but nothin much to complain bout.
