Title: Wouldn't Quit
Characters: Kairi, Sora

(anything else): feedback please? :) and oddly the icon suits the drabble. xD No spoilers as it's based off the first game.
Wouldn't Quit
At first Kairi had been terrified at watching Sora give up his own heart to save her. She'd watched with tears in her eyes as her best friend disappeared into nothingness before her. Dispersed a glimmer of light and then, he was gone.
A hand gripped her wrist firmly, urging her to run from their enemies. But Sora was still here somewhere in the labyrinthine Hollow Bastion. Why would he do something so absurd as give up his essence? Why would Riku, Kairi's other best friend say such a thing to Sora? They both knew that he'd do anything for either them.
They both knew that he'd die for them.
Even as the heartless surrounded her, as the duck and the dog fought to protect Kairi, she had a hope. When the one heartless that remained stared up her with those hollow, dead yellow eyes, the Princess of Heart knew. She fell to her knees, not caring about the stinging pain the stone brought through her legs.
She folded the small heartless into her arms. Willing, praying, hoping that Sora was inside that creature. Her eyes clutched shut with an encouraging squeeze. This was the power of her heart, she could bring back her friend.
"Sora," she whispered to the creature, "come back to me."
The world around her, the dull shades of darkness wanned in the luminous ambience about her. Arms wrapped around her, pulling her in. Kairi looked up, tears of joy in her eyes as Sora stood there, smiling at her.
"I'm back," he said quietly, "thanks for never giving up on me Kairi."
