Title: Lucky One

Notes: ...it's about a Dusk. I think his name is Benny :D No spoilers, but it does involve a specific cutscene from the end of KH2, so it's best to have finished the game.
It's been a long, long time since the creature could care or even think. It comes as a shock to it, then, or joy suddenly runs through long-dead and distorted limbs.
It looks up to it's black on black city sky and it – it can suddenly think again, it realizes-- can see the cause of it's euphoria. In the multitude of the falling, glittering, crystal Hearts, there is one that it knows.
It's companions-- the pitiful Dusks that dance along with it-- they will be disappointed. Their Hearts are not coming to them, their Hearts are lost and discarded among the multitude. They are not as lucky as it.
As the bright unclaimed crystals touch wetcold ground, they become defiled, turning into the other monster, the Heartless. But it's Heart won't become like that, no, no.
It comes closer. It can see it's missing piece perfectly, now, as it drifts down to to the Dusks.
It-- he, though, hadn't it been a he? He remembers-- rejoices, as the bright bright and oh so alive piece descends into his waiting hands-- his real hands. The memory of his human shape had always been there, he realizes, buried deep under lost, discarded dreams and darkness.
He smiles, and the coldsteel dusk-mouth becomes what it was all along, warm and soft and so very human as he holds the coveted thing to him, as he feels himself becoming whole again.
This is a lucky, lucky second chance, and this time, he knows how to do it right. He knows how to keep his Heart safesafesafe, guarded and filled with light. It's safe now and he won't ever let it go again.
