Challenge: [091] Invincible
Title: Similar Like So

Notes: It kind of hurt me to see that Norrington wasn't worked into KH2. Um, yes, that, and Jack Sparrow, is of course, invincible, but y'all knew that already ^^

Sora..couldn't exactly say that he was surprised. Jack Sparrow had gotten them all captured, by the Queen's navy, no less. “Way to go.” he muttered to the pirate, as he struggled against the ropes that bound him.

“What can I say, mate..?” Jack asked, lightly. “It seemed like a good idea at the time.” The good idea, from what Sora had gathered, had been to break out of jail, and steal a ship, all while flouting authority in a manner that only a pirate could.

“Well, it wasn't.” Sora hissed in reply.

The commodore-- Norrington? Sora wasn't sure; neither did he care-- smiled dryly at his captives. “Miss Swann, of course, will be taken to her father. Mr. Turner, I don't care about. The duck and the dog, bizarre as they may be, seem harmless enough, and we will allow for them to return to Port Royal. But as for you, Jack--”

“You'll apologize to me, give me back my ship, my honor and my monkey, and more importantly, my rum, won't you?”

“Far from it.” came the haughty reply. “You'll be marooned on that island, over yonder. And-- oh, dear, I've forgotten about you, haven't I?” he asked, addressing Sora.

“That's right, and you'll regret it!” The Keyblader snapped back.

“You seem just as suspicious as our dear pirate friend Sparrow.” Norrigton's lips tightened. “We'll leave you on the island with him.”

Sora, like Jack? Never! “That's not true! Unlike him, I am a good person.” Sora defended himself, proudly.

“Are you undefeatable, as Sparrow so often claims himself to be?”

Sora was not sure why the question was being posed to him but he did not hesitate to answer. “Of course! And after I get free, the Keyblade will show you--”

“Then you're deluded, just as he is.” Norrington's lips twitched, into what was maybe a sort of self-satisfied smirk. “You see, it's a question not so much of your character, but of your mental well-being. Those who believe themselves invincible so rarely are; instead of the hero they think themselves, they're merely a stubborn and unyielding barrier to progress and to logic. I'm leaving you both.”

The two watched the ship vanishing in the distance. “But you are invincible, and I am the hero.” Sora said, sulkily. “We aren't deluded at all.”

Jack shrugged, uncorking a flask he had dug up. “He's just a bit jealous, mate, as he'd never be smart or strong enough to even dream of escaping an island on the backs of sea turtles, as the brilliant me has done on a small number of occasions. Set all that aside, we've got plenty of time with which to wait for said turtles. Care for some rum?”
