Challenge: Paopu
Title: Oath-Keeper
Word Count: 212
Warnings: Nah.
"Take this."
He looked at the charm in his hand. It was... It was horrible. Without contest, it was the ugliest thing Sora had ever seen (Heartless monsters and Captain Hook included).
At one time, it may have been something almost elegant. It was in the shape of a paopu: five golden points in the center stretched out to edges to end in five pink petals: the fruit in its flowering form. The artist had then gently painted five black strokes in the center to represent seeds. It was nice enough. However, someone who was obviously not the original artist had added a crude smiling face (with "hair") to the topmost petal, apparently in magic-marker. The simple flower had thus been transformed into a humanoid figure that, disturbingly enough, bore resemblance to Sora, naked save for a paopu covering his crotch.
It was ridiculous. It was horrendous. It was childish. It was-- It was from Kairi.
"It's my lucky charm." She proclaimed proudly, hands on slim hips. "Be sure to bring it back to me."
Sora looked up from the smiling horror in his hand to see Kairi's pouted lips, her pert nose, and her large, pleading eyes. He gripped the charm and nodded viciously. "Don't worry," he said like one swallowing bitter medicine, "I will."
