Apr. 17th, 2007 07:55 pmTitle: A Cure for Maturity
Challenge: Crash
Word Count: 269
Summary: Sora decided being cool was better than having fun...but that didn't last long. X-over with a WB cartoon. (le gasp!)
A/N: I realize this isn't a Disney film. But it's still completely awesome. If it can't happen in canon, it certainly can in fanfiction! :D
Sora had decided it was high time he grew up.
Sweet seventeen had come and passed, and he now worked harder at imitating Leon than making people laugh. His expressions turned from bright, toothy smiles to constricted lines and half smirks. He forced more of a swagger to his walk, and put on sly looks around pretty girls, puffing out his chest and putting on a cool bravado.
“Garwsh, Donald, it’s just a phase. I remember when Max did the same thing as a kid – acting all embarrassed around me and all sorts of shenannygins.”
“Goofy…Max still acts like that.”
“Hey guys, I’m steering in for a landing,” Sora called from the cockpit. His two companions hurriedly returned to their seats, ready to engage the controls.
They swooped down out of the sky, zooming past mountains and over a pleasant autumn forest. There was a foreboding tremor – and suddenly, a hulking grey mass rose from the trees. Inevitably, they flew straight into it.
“EMERGENCY! CHIP! DALE!” Sora shouted into a portable radio, half sprawled on the floor of the plummeting gummi ship. It lurched, and then it was raised like an elevator, halting to a stop in midair. Flabbergasted, the trio emerged from their ruined vessel.
“WOAH! Is that a space ship?” A young boy trotted down a humongous metal limb. “Cool! I’m Hogarth! Sorry about the whole crash thing –“
“Kid, what is going -“ Sora paused midsentence. His eyes adopted a familiar twinkle as they grew wide, an awestruck grin slapped on his face. He sounded positively giddy when he spoke next. “Is that a giant robot?!”

I think I remember that movie... the Iron Giant? I watched it a long time ago. That was a very clever crossover, I enjoyed it very much :).

Date: 2007-04-19 05:04 pm (UTC)It was the Iron Giant. :) Not many people remember it - it didn't get the attention it deserved, and now it's kind of...forgotten. But yeah, it's awesome, and I definitely would rent it again if I were you. THE POWER OF STITCH COMPELS YOU. XD

Indeed, that's why Kingdom Hearts is such a fun fandom to write for. I'm a cross-over-holic ^_^.

Date: 2007-04-19 05:12 pm (UTC)I'm glad you enjoyed it. Teenagerhood is a wide-spread pestilence. Everyone goes through it, and hardly anyone is ever really proud of it. But it is fun to write about.
Your icon is amazing, by the way. :D
