Title: At Least I Didn't Take The Boat?
Word Count: 463
Notes: ...I regret nothing. >D I know this is close to the deadline, but I was just kind of like "I kind of have to do this now." So I did. :D Enjoy!
So maybe it wasn’t the sleekest of Keyblades. After all, there was almost an anchor at one end, and one of those lifesavers at the other. Kind of unbalanced, compared to others he’d had before. And yet, there was something about the Keyblade that made Sora like it.
Of course, that could have been due to the beads threaded into his hair, as well.
He had to smile a bit as he thought of what Kairi would have said—they’d already been through it before, when he’d been on one of his original pirate kicks: “Sora! You took my beads!”
“At least I didn’t take your boat?” the boy responded sheepishly, fingers poking together.
Kairi had laughed. But this time, it was Sora’s turn to laugh, taking a few experimental strokes to get used to the new blade. It was… interesting; that was for sure.
“Hey, Sora!” the shout caught his ear, and the boy paused, turning to look to where Donald and Goofy were waiting for him, the latter waving to get his attention. “Ready to head out?”
With a grin, Sora swung the Keyblade up to rest on his shoulder, gait a swaggering sort of stumble as he made his way back up the hill to where they were. “I think the question more t’ be if the two of you’re ready,” he challenged. “One such as myself; why, we gent can be ready for sail quicker’n the two’ve ye could make a shout to the contrary!”
“I think the rum went to his head,” Donald decided. “Goofy—you get him into the ship. We’re leaving!”
But Sora was too quick for Goofy. With a laugh, he danced away, shaking his head at Donald. “Aw, come on, Donald!” And then, “I mean—if’n a man understands nary a thing he does nor the reasons why for, ‘tis most likely due to reasons unbeknownst to the rest of us, eh? But if’n the reasons are lost ev’n to sailor himself, ‘kin only be a loss of that which survives our lives the most, would you say?”
He was getting a blank look.
“A sense of humor, mates,” Sora revealed, cattish grin still on his face. “Ye don’t take the time to relax and have a laugh every once’n a while, ye’ll lose your sense of direction—an’ with our journey t’be made, t’would be disastrous.”
They understood now—he could see it in their faces. “Gawrsh, Sora, we know you’re right,” Goofy told him, grin wide on his face. “But with that funny-soundin’ accent…”
Sora chose only to hear the first part. “Of course I’m right!” he proclaimed, grin becoming slightly more roguish as he jumped up onto a nearby barrel. “I’m Cap’n Sora of the Highwind—savvy?”
...:D!
