Waiii. I'm new...oO; On with the drabble! I'd like some comments, though, to know how I did...
Challenge: Fragility
Title: Porcelain Doll
Word Count: 342
Note: Riku/Sora implied.
Sometimes Riku would casually walk around the islands, admiring the scenery and secretly trying to spot his best friend.
And he would always find Sora. Sora, the one he admitted, only to himself, to care for more than anybody. He would find Sora somewhere alone, with her.
Kairi.
Kairi was everything.
she shines
in a world full of ugliness
she matters when everything is meaningless
Kairi was the one who Sora truely cared for. Sometimes Riku would just watch them, how they smiled and talked the way that he and Sora used to.
fragile
To Riku, Kairi was fragile. Kairi was Sora's favorite posession. Like a porcelain doll, something to look at and admire the beauty of.
she doesn't see her beauty
she tries to get away
sometimes
Kairi never noticed how beautiful she was to Sora. Sometimes Riku would stand in the shadows, watching the way his best friend noted her ever movement, like a beautiful model walking gracefully onto the stage.
it's just that nothing seems worth saving
I can't watch her slip away
Yes...
There was pain. An immense, deep pain. Riku felt as though Sora had replaced him. With her.
Still. Riku would still take the role as the dominant, older boy, protecting his two best friends, no matter how hard each moment ached.
I won't let you fall apart
And Riku would never let anything happen to the girl, Kairi, for he knew how much she meant to Sora. Kairi really was fragile, for she had control on Sora's happiness. Riku would not let that be broken.
No matter how much Riku loved Sora, he would put his feelings in a deep, dark spot in the back of his mind. Sometimes he would casually walk up to Sora and Kairi, and pretend he wasn't fighting back tears.
I won't let you fall apart
Riku wouldn't let anything happen to Kairi, because Kairi was so fragile. For if Kairi were to break, Sora would break. And Riku wouldn't let that happen.
Because, perhaps, he was fragile as well.
