Challenge 192
Jun. 29th, 2009 05:19 pmChallenge: 192 [Walls]
Title: Hourglass
Word Count: 153
Other: Riku, Xehanort's Heartless. First game. Quote in lj-cut is from William Makepeace Thackery and was the inspiration for this. Weird. Oh, and short drabble (for once in my life)! Wooooohoooooo!! :D
It begins as an emptiness inside of him. A stark, ribboning display of blank against the void. He opens his frightened eyes to the eyes of countless others, and they stare back at him, and he feels, at the very bottom of his stomach, the unmistakable dread.
They surround him. His own heart clenches around the agony. It's up, up, spreading--in, out, scathing the walls of his essence so cold that it burns. He's let it in.
The man with the warm-deep words smiles at him, and the white teeth stab like a hell-bright rush of blood to the head. His eyes are fearless, too fearless. The concept of sin no longer exists for him; there is nothing but his own will.
It chills Riku's blood. A different kind of poison starts pumping through his veins.
He's let it in.
There's no where left to go.

Date: 2009-07-01 03:26 am (UTC)I love the whole Riku-Darkness dynamic of the first game. We didn't get to see a lot of what happened with him, but in a way I guess it's better left up to the imagination. Thanks again! :)
