It's too rowdy here for his tastes.
People rush about, and he's nearly bowled over several times, even pressed near the wall as he is. Some part of him wonders if home has developed as far as this military town has, but he shrugs the idea off. He can't afford to miss home, not after he's come this far.
He barely notices it at first. It's not quite a flicker, like right before your TV goes off in the middle of a thunderstorm. It's hardly even there. He ignores it.
Ignorance might have cost him his life.
It grows, though, into static. Not always there, nor always gone, and never quite tangible. It's at the edges of his vision, and he thinks that maybe it's just him -- he might just be hallucinating again. He might just be pretending like it's something important, when it's just his own eyes playing tricks on him, or maybe a bit of his hair caught in the fabric of his blindness.
When the world flickers and then -- the sun is shining, the people are moving, bustling quickly, haggling at shops, running talking shopping living -- everything goes black.
He feels himself falling, and then --

BLACK)
he is stopped.
Something has caught him, and for a moment he flails, trying desperately to get the horrifying grip of something off him. When he lifts his head,
(please don't be him)
Mickey Mouse is grinning at him.
"Careful," giggles the Mouse King, and helps him through the portal into stable Twilight Town.
Riku exhales, a breath he didn't know he was holding, and wonders how he could have been so stupid.
