Jan. 30th, 2010 08:38 pmChallenge 215: Begin at the End
Title: First Breath
Word Count: 100
Notes.. um. Nothing really? I just wanted to write something for this challenge, because of its awesome charity quality. And this image has stayed at the back of my mind while others vanished, so it won. Oh - I think it's my first time actually managing exactly 100 words, so. *gives self a gold star*
I shouldn't still be awake. In case you couldn't tell. ;)
ETA: And I thought I posted this in the morning, and found it on my own journal instead of the community. :P
He woke that last day as Dilan, thinking and feeling (or not) all the things to which he had become accustomed; the determination, the curiosity, the hunger to know more (pain, and anger at feeling it).
He wakes again as the Garden falls around them, and feels nothing (there is nothing there to feel) but the wind howling through him, moving with a graceful strength he has only dreamed of in training.
And a hunger for destruction more intense than it has ever been.
He cannot find it in himself to regret the change. (Wouldn’t look, even if he could.)
