Challenge: [250] Sugar and Spice
Title: Carol of the Cookies
Word Count: 240
Notes: Baking sugar cookies is a family tradition. And this is my first challenge. Hope it’s okay.
Sora and Riku were trying to bake sugar cookies as a present for Kairi, but they were having a hard time of it. However hard they tried, the dough kept on sticking to the mat they were using!
“We should’ve done the dough last night, so it would have time to get cold.” Riku informed Sora. Sora looked at his hands covered with bits of dough and sighed, then brightened.
“I know! Let’s go in the gummi ship and go see Santa! He’ll help us.” Sora said.
Riku gave him a Look, then put the dough back in the freezer.
“That would take too much time. It ought to be ready soon.”
They looked at the refrigerator hopefully.
“Did we put the mace in?” Sora asked, panicking.
Riku gave him a blank look. “No?”
“Well, it wouldn’t make that much of a difference. It just won’t be spicy. I think.” Sora said.
“Yeah, it would just taste a bit like nutmeg that way.” Riku pulled the odugh back out and looked at it. “I think it’s cold enough now.”
“Hooray!” said Sora, grabbing the rolling pin. They made little reindeer cookies, and were jut taking them out of the oven when someone walked in the room.
Kairi took a good look at the two of them covered from hair to shoe in flour and started giggling. Then Sora and Riku joined in, and the sound of laughter filled the house.
