Warnings: I RP this. It is not that odd. >.> Really.
She didn't cry until she was far enough away from them that they wouldn't hear. Riku and Sora had seen so much.
... but she hadn't. And she couldn't help feeling like they'd moved past her.
Tidus came around the street corner, whistling off-key. As usual. He paused, blinking down at the weeping girl on the bench. "Kairi?"
She looked up, choking back a sniffle and hastily trying to mop up her tears. "Tidus! Um... stubbed my toe." Yeah, Tidus didn't really buy that, and she winced as his face took on a skepticism she was used to from Riku, not him. "... I saw Sora and Riku."
Tidus nodded, sitting down next to her on the bench. "Yeah. They... they changed a lot, huh?" Kairi nodded, dully.
"It's been so long since I saw them." Tidus frowned, turning his head to look at her as she spoke. "I just... they're not the same people any more."
Tidus blinked. "... well, neither are you." Kairi's head snapped up, her eyes meeting his. "You're older and wiser too. Just because you left the island doesn't mean you're still a kid." She smiled a little, and Tidus flushed as she laid her head on his shoulder.
Nope. She wasn't a kid any more. And neither was he.
