challenge [216] once upon a time
title: anti-army girlfriend
wordcount: 193
notes: i was so beyond pissed by this one big thing in the new, bbs secret ending. grrr. so it's been quick-fixed here.
The letter Sora read was exciting. The King had promised new dangers and far-away places, a whole new set of adventures for anyone who would take them on.
Kairi knew exactly what to do first. She pulled the charm from her pocket and pressed it into Sora’s palm. “Hurry back,” she said, lightly.
He grinned awkwardly, uncertainty clear in his eyes. “Um, sure…but, you don’t have to wait—“
“Gosh, Sora. You’re still hopeless,” she said, half-closing her eyes in mock-exasperation. “I’m kidding. Seriously, kidding. I think I can use it like a Keychain, actually,” she explained, summoning her flowery Keyblade, and showing it to Sora. “I just don’t know how to put it on.”
Sora clipped the charm on, and the flowers became the white steel blades of the Oathkeeper Keyblade in an instant. “That’s cool,” he said, appreciatively – but he only had a second to admire her weapon, because she was very adamantly swinging it at the shadows under trees and in the leaves, daydreaming their adventures early, and thinking about how she had her heart and she was whole and she was ready to be in the story this time.
